How many air chambers do the docks have?
1 Chamber
Can I leave my dock inflated & outside?
Yes, you can leave any of our items inflated when not using. We simply recommend to store them somewhere covered so it isn’t in the sun for a long period of time. If you'd like to leave it outside, simply make sure you have it tied off correctly & like anything, when left in the water, it may develop growth. Stay on top of it and give it a quick clean every now and then to prevent heavy growth.
Why is there a bulge on the underside of my paddleboard, dock or platform ?
The bulge/bubble that appears on the underside/bottom of the Pup Plank, our inflatable paddleboards and inflatable docks is not a defect. The material which these inflatable SUPs are made of is called ‘high pressure inflatable drop stitch flooring’. In this material there are hundreds of thousands of strands which connect the top to the bottom. These strands must be cut on a small section of the top in order to install the two-part Halkey Roberts (HR) valve found on your paddleboard, dock, or Pup Plank. Therefore, the slight bulge on the underside is a result of their not being threads connecting the top to the bottom in that one location.
Can I leave my dock in the water for long periods of time?
Yes you can. Like anything in the water, it may see some growth over time. Simply take it out occasionally and clean the bottom.
What PSI should I inflate my dock to?
10 PSI
How do I clean my dock?
We recommend washing with fresh water after use. Any basic cleaning solution can clean our items. For scuffs on SUPs, kayaks, and docks we recommend “Magic Eraser.”
What do I do if there is air leaking from the main valve?
Most valve leaks can be fixed by tightening the valve with a Solstice valve wrench. There should be a valve wrench included in the repair kit that came with your item. Using the wrench, turn the valve clockwise until the leaking stops. Often times a high-pressure valve can become loose, which is why the wrench is included. If this does not fix the leak, resetting the valve may be required. IMPORTANT: Be sure the valve and paddleboard are dry and free of debris (sand, dirt, salt) before resetting. There are no seals, just a 2 piece valve set. To reset, unscrew the valve completely and make sure the alignment is centered, then tighten.
Can I tie my boat to it?
You can, but it is not the items intended use, therefore we only recommend tying it temporarily & not overnight without people nearby. The D-Ring tying points are strong but could rip with a boat tied to it in strong winds or rough waters.
What is the difference between all of your pumps and which ones are best used to inflate my dock?
We have three high pressure pumps that can help inflate your dock:
#19170 2-Stage Digital HPI Pump | #19177 Digital HPI Pump | #19175 12V HPI Pump. These can be accompanied by our additional pumps such as the #19200 Turbo Electric Pump. **Please note High pressure pumps get to the appropriate pressure, but at a slow & steady rate.**
What is the proper rechargeable or cordless equipment/adapter needed to inflate/deflate the docks most efficiently?
The valve on our docks is called a Halkey Roberts or HR valve, so any HR valve adaptor should work. All of our high volume air pumps (Item #'s 19000AC, 19150, 19200) can assist to inflate the docks 90%, & then need our high pressure pumps ( Item #'s 19175, 19176, 19177) to top it off to 12PSI or can also be done manually
Can the Pup Plank be attached to a boat or pontoon?
Each pup plank has 2 D-rings and is supplied with (2) 8’ lines for attaching the pup plank to your boat. Depending on the size of your boat, you might need a longer line to loop around the pontoon and back to the d-ring.
What is the height limit from the boat to the water for the Pup Plank?
This is dependent on the size of the dog – a larger dog can make a larger gap from the plank – usually to a swim platform to board the boat.
How long does it take for the dock to inflate?
Inflation time is heavily dependent on which item you are inflating, which pump you are using, and (if using a manual pump) how fast you are pumping! Our general rule of thumb is that depending on the item you purchased, it can take 5-15 minutes to inflate with the included manual pump. We also offer electric pumps to speed up the process, and usually suggest these for the best experience with our products. If you would like more information on which pump would be best for you, please let me know and I would be happy to provide a recommendation.
Can docks be used with either side facing up?
Yes, many people use the docks upside down when children are playing on them, because then the d-rings are not exposed to potentially grab fingers or toes.
Can docks be deflated and stored for winter?
Yes, docks can be deflated and rolled or folded for winter storage, and it is actually recommended that you do so to take the best care of your product. They should be stored in a controlled environment and not subjected to harsh conditions. Prior to storing for the winter, make sure the dock is cleaned with fresh water, and put away/folded when fully dry.
The dog ramp XL says 200 pounds in one area and in another area says 100 pounds. Which one is 200 pounds and can humans use it too? How do you tie it to a lake wall that has only a gate at top? Do you also need to tie it below? How would that work?
The XL and Sport can handle up to 200 lbs. It’s intended for dogs, not humans. The item comes with 4 D-Rings and 2(two) 8ft. ropes that allow you to choose the best way to tie it for your application: Boat, Lake, Pool, Dock, etc., it should be tied to 2 points total for optimal use.
Is it possible for me to purchase a booster step for my pup plank?
We don’t have them to add, but we have a new item that has a step feature, The Pup Plank Boost: https://www.amazon.com/SOLSTICE-Inflatable-Floating-Elevated-Platforms/dp/B0C9LLWYVK/ref=sr_1_9?keywords=pup+plank+boost&qid=1691589927&sr=8-9 You can attempt to make your own step as long as it doesn’t damage the item.
Do Pup Planks come with pump?
Yes! All Solstice Pup Planks come with an included hand pump to easily inflate your product. Here at Solstice we also offer electric pumps for an even easier experience with our inflatable products. If this is something you may have interest in, please reply back and let me know and I would be happy to provide some recommendations!

Do the Inflatable SUPs have a one-way valve?
The HR valve has a center pin that can locks up so air can only flow in for inflation. When deflating, simply push the pin down and turn a quarter turn to lock the pin in its down position. This allows it to become a one-way valve.

Gauge is not working while inflating/deflating
The gauge on your manual pump begins registering as the item inflates and becomes more rigid to create pressure. The pump requires a portion of the item to be filled with air in order for it to detect pressure. Please note that the gauge will only display pressure on the down stroke while pumping.
How do you suggest I fold up my Inflatable Boat or Kayak?
Release the valve, and as air is coming out we suggest folding into thirds - Starboard side to center, & then Port side to center. Once this is done, begin folding from the bow to the stern.

I purchased a Solstice Flare and can't inflate it. When I remove the air hose, the valves stay open and the air rushes out. What am I doing wrong? How do I get the valve to close?
Please start the inflation with the valve in the down position. Upon removing the pump, it should remain in the locked position.
Why is there no glue that comes with the kayak repair kits?
The kayak repair kit does not include the glue due to Prop 65 regulations. We suggest using HH66 or Aquaseal for any of your repair needs. These items can be found at your local pool or hardware store.

How do you register boats?
Solstice Inflatable boats do not need to be registered with the DMV unless the boat is equipped with a motor. Registering in each state varies slightly, but applicable boats come with a Certificate of Origin; which is basically the title to the boat. It comes signed by our team, but needs to be filled out by the consumer. Once this is done, you should then be able to go to the DMV and follow your state’s requirements.
