Day 02
The afternoon you bring someone along.
Drop the second seat in and the same boat paddles tandem. The Rogue is rated for one or two people up to 360 lb total, gear included, so a quick add-up of both paddlers and their gear tells you whether it fits.

Is the Rogue the right boat
Made for calm water and easy days. Not for rapids.
The Rogue Kit is for you if:
- You paddle lakes, ponds, and slow rivers. Solstice rates the Rogue for Class I water.
- You want one boat for a solo morning and a two-up afternoon.
- You have a trunk and a closet, not a roof rack and a boat shed.
- You would like the paddle and pump sorted for you.
Look at another Solstice boat if:
- You want to run moving water. The Flare and the Durango are rated for Class III.
- You want a longer boat for regular tandem trips. The Flare is 12'6".
- You want a rigid deck to stand on. That is a Solstice paddleboard or the Rambler SUP-kayak hybrid, not the Rogue.
From trunk to water
Four steps. The pump does the hard one.
1. Plug in
Connect the pump to the 12V outlet and fill the kayak, then the seats and spray skirts, in the order the manual shows.
2. Set the seats
One seat for a solo paddle, both for tandem. They drop in and lift out by hand.
3. Snap the paddle
Four sections click together. Put on your life jacket and launch.
4. Drain, fold, drive home
Open the drain valve, let the air out, fold into thirds and then bow to stern. Rinse with fresh water and dry it before you store it.
Frequently Asked Questions
The box has the kayak with its two seats and repair kit, one 4-piece paddle, and the 12V pump. Three things are not in it. A life jacket, which belongs on you for every paddle. A second paddle, which you will want if two of you paddle together. And repair glue, which the kit leaves out because of Prop 65 rules; Solstice suggests HH66 or Aquaseal from a pool or hardware store if you ever need a patch.
The Rogue seats one or two, in a 10'6" by 33" boat with a 360 lb maximum for people plus gear. Add up the two of you plus what you bring before you buy. If that total runs close to 360 lb, or tandem is your usual way to paddle, the longer 12'6" Flare is worth a look.
Different from a hard-shell, and built as a kayak: three air chambers, an I-beam floor, spray skirts front and back, a drain valve, a repair kit, and a 1-year warranty behind it. Solstice rates it for Class I water, so calm lakes and easy rivers are where it belongs.
It depends on the pump and how many chambers you fill, so we do not quote a number. The included pump plugs into your vehicle, which means you are not hand-pumping at the ramp.
Yes. The Rogue is saltwater and freshwater compatible. Rinse it with fresh water after a salt day and let it dry before you pack it away.
Yes. Solstice says you can leave any of its inflatables inflated when not in use. Store it somewhere covered so it is not sitting in direct sun for long stretches.
Solstice offers a 1-year warranty on products used for recreational purposes, with proof of purchase and evaluation of the claim, and will repair or provide replacement parts for a defective product at its discretion.
No. The Rogue carries a Class I rating: lakes, ponds, and slow-moving rivers. If moving water is the plan, look at the Solstice Flare or Durango, both rated for Class III.
